General Terms

Article 1: General
The proprietors will welcome guests personally and attentively.

Article 2: Arrival time
Rooms are available from 4 pm. In case of deferred or late arrival (after 9 pm), clients must notify the proprietors.

Article 3: Departure time
Departure time is at 11 am. Check out after 11 am (until 7 pm) is possible on request, with a supplementary charge of €50 per room.

Article 4: Reservation terms
In order to secure your booking, we require a deposit of 50% to be paid by bank transfer within 3 days of reservation. The proprietors reserve the right to cancel the reservation if the deposit has not been received within 3 days. The remaining 50% must be paid 6 weeks before arrival.

Article 5: Payment of additional services
Drinks and meals (table d’hôte) are to be paid for at least 1 day before check-out.

Article 6: Cancellation by the client
The proprietors must be notified of all cancellations by telephone and an e-mail.

• Cancellation up to 3 months before arrival : full deposit will be reimbursed.
• Cancellation up to 6 weeks before arrival : the deposit will not be reimbursed.
• Cancellation after 6 weeks before arrival : the complete rental sum is forfeited.

Article 7: Cancellation by proprietors
Upon cancellation by the proprietors, the client must be informed by phone call and an e-mail. All payments will be reimbursed immediately. If the proprietors cancel less than 30 days before the start of a reserved stay, the client will receive a guaranteed 30% reduction of the cost of any future reservation. The proprietors will do their best to find another room of the same quality nearby.

Article 8: Tourist tax (taxe de séjour)
This is a local tax, included in the fee for the room, which the proprietors then pay to the Public Treasury.

Article 9: Use of the premises
Clients are asked to respect the peacefulness of the premises and to use the facilities accordingly. Clients agree to leave the rooms in good condition and to notify the proprietors of any anomaly. The premises are reserved for the sole use of clients and the proprietors.

Article 10: Personal liability insurance
Clients should be covered by comprehensive Personal Liability insurance. Clients are responsible for any breakages and will be charged accordingly. The clients must try to leave all areas in the state in which they were found. The proprietors accept no responsability for loss or damage from whatever cause (theft, etc) affecting goods of any kind (personal effects, equipment...) brought to Chartreuse Le Cariol by the client.

Article 11: Animals
In the interest of hygiene, animals are not allowed.

Article 12: No smoking
The house and guest rooms are non-smoking areas.

Article 13: Meals
Twice a week during the summer months we host a table d’hôte. We are also happy to make reservations for you in a local restaurant. We ask you not to eat in the bedrooms.

Article 14: Breakfast
Breakfast is served between 9:00 and 10:30. Breakfast is available earlier, on request.

Article 15: Children
Children are the total responsibility of their parents.

Article 16: Swimming pool
The shower near the pool is available for your use. The pool is filled with salt water. When making use of the swimming pool and hot tub, please be aware of the following regulations:

• Use of the pool is pivate to members of the proprietors’ family and to the guests.
• No child under the age of 12 is allowed access to the pool area and hot tub, unless accompanied by an adult. Parents are fully responsible for their children and must supervise their use of the pool and hot tub.
• You must shower before using the pool or the hot tub.

Swimming towels are at your disposal. Guest room towels should not be used outside the room.

Article 17: Sauna
The sauna is private for guests of the Suite Hammam. However if the Hammam is unbooked, the sauna is available. From October through March the sauna is at your disposal. Please respect the following rules:

• The use of the sauna is your own responsibility.
• To avoid perspiration on the wood, please always use a towel in the sauna.

Article 18: Wines
We have a selection of wines available for you. You will find the wine list in your room.

Article 19: Table d’hôte
We serve table d’hôte twice a week in the summer and at least once a week for the rest of the season. There is a children’s menu available. We prepare meals that combine international and regional specialties in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Article 20: Use of the kitchen
Use of an extended kitchen is available for guests staying in the suites.

Article 21: Towels and sheets A bathrobe and a set of towels, consisting of 3 standard size towels, 1 large bath towel and a face cloth, is included per person. Fresh sheets or towels are available upon request at € 15 per set.

Article 22: Cleaning
An extra cleaning service is available for a fee of € 50.
